‍Janessa graduated with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During her studies, Janessa consistently achieved high academic performance and is a member of The International Honor Society in Psychology.

Experience

‍Janessa has experience providing individual, family, and group counseling services to those indirectly or directly affected by substance abuse disorders. Volunteering at various institutions, including colleges, prisons, hospitals, and shelters, has given her the opportunity to connect with diverse populations. Additionally, Janessa has contributed to community mental health awareness initiatives by assisting in the organization of fundraisers and has spoken at events for the United Way of Bucks County.

Janessa works as a drug and alcohol therapist. In this role, she provides clinical services to individuals and groups with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. Her approach to therapy is based on her client's needs and preferences but is grounded in evidence-based practices and aims to offer an eclectic range of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Group Therapies. Janessa strongly believes in the effectiveness of Harm Reduction and Medication-assisted Treatment. She strives to foster an environment where clients feel supported and motivated to make positive changes in their lives.

Hobbies

Outside of her professional life, Janessa enjoys traveling and seeking out new adventures both near and far. Janessa advocates for the importance of self-care encompassing one's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. She prioritizes self-care activities such as exercising, meditation, and enjoying nature to maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a source of relaxation and entertainment, she finds pleasure in watching historically accurate period pieces, true story adaptations, and medieval adventure/fantasy films.
