Somatic and Holistic Approaches
We understand that a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment isn't effective for everyone, which is why we tailor our approach to your individual recovery goals. At Rosewood Recovery, we combine traditional therapy methods with innovative techniques and additional support services to create a treatment plan that’s as unique as you are. Check out some of the somatic and holistic services we offer.

Chair Massage
Chair massage is a type of therapeutic massage performed while the recipient is seated in a specially designed chair. This form of massage focuses on areas of the body that commonly hold tension, such as the back, shoulders, neck, and arms.

Traditional Meditation
Traditional meditation typically involves sitting quietly in a comfortable position while focusing on the breath, a mantra, or an object of meditation. This practice aims to cultivate mindfulness, concentration, and inner peace.
Walking Meditation
Walking meditation combines physical movement with mindfulness practice, making it a more active form of meditation. It involves walking slowly and deliberately while focusing on the sensations and experiences of each step.

Movement Therapy
Movement therapy (often called dance/movement therapy) is a therapeutic approach that uses body movement as a primary way to support emotional, cognitive, and physical healing. It is based on the idea that the body and mind are connected, and that movement can help people process feelings that may be difficult to express in words.
Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback therapy, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a technique that aims to train the brain to regulate its own activity. It involves using real-time monitoring of brainwave patterns to provide feedback to individuals, helping them learn to modulate brain function. Neurofeedback has aided in: improved focus and attention, stress reduction, enhanced sleep, and mood regulation

Sound Baths
Sound baths are a therapeutic practice that uses the vibrations and frequencies of sound to promote relaxation, healing, and well-being. During a sound bath, participants are immersed in a range of soothing sounds produced by various instruments, such as singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and drums.
Guest Speakers
We regularly welcome guest speakers from a variety of mutual help and recovery communities, including 12-step fellowships, Recovery Dharma, and other peer-led support groups, as well as program alumni who share their lived experience. These speakers offer honest insight into recovery, resilience, and long-term growth, helping clients connect treatment work to real-world recovery pathways and sustained community support.

Therapy Dogs
Therapy dogs are specially trained animals that provide emotional support, comfort, and companionship to individuals in various settings, and Rosewood Recovery clients (and staff) when they visit the program. They play a significant role in enhancing the well-being of people undergoing therapy or dealing with emotional and psychological challenges.
Reiki
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan and is designed to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The practice involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner to the client through gentle touch or by placing hands near the body.

Yoga
Gentle yoga offers a supportive, accessible practice focused on grounding the body and calming the nervous system. Through slow movement, breathwork, and mindful stretching, clients are encouraged to build body awareness, reduce stress, and reconnect with a sense of safety and balance. This practice is adaptable for all levels and meets individuals where they are in their recovery and healing process.
